This website is dedicated to Mel Hall Since retiring from Major League Baseball Mel Hall’s life has been dedicated to coaching hundreds of children, securing over $2 million in college scholarships, and consistently volunteering to the local community.  The State of Texas carries the burden to prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt by revealing hard evidence in a criminal case. In the case of Mel Hall, his history was unblemished from all crimes, and the state provided no hard or medical evidence to prove him guilty. He was charged with crimes that occurred a decade prior. The conviction of Mel Hall was based solely on heresay. The trial lasted 2 days and a jury deliberated for less than 90 minutes to determine a guilty verdict. He is presently serving out a 42 year sentence in the state penitentiary for aggravated sexual assault.
